Drop a pin on the map — Pinping handles the rest. You get a notification when you approach that spot, even with the app closed.
Most reminders ask: when do you want to be reminded? Pinping asks instead: where do you want to be reminded? You'll get the notification exactly when you're at the right place — not too early, not too late.
Open the map, long-press any spot, add a note and emoji. Done — your reminder is set.
When you enter the geofence radius, iOS wakes the app and fires your notification — instantly.
Pins and locations are stored locally only. Nothing is sent to any server. No tracking, no ads.
Tap and hold anywhere on the map to drop a pin at that exact location.
Type what you need to remember, pick an emoji, set the notification radius. Save.
Put your phone in your pocket. When you get near that spot, the notification arrives on its own.
You pass the grocery store every day on the way home. Pin it, and you'll never forget to stop again — even when you're tired from work.
The pharmacy is on your route. Pin it, and you'll get a nudge as you walk past.
Pin the gas station on your commute. Get reminded every morning as you drive past.
Pin the pickup point. Every time you pass that area you'll be reminded — no more packages waiting for days.
That café, that bookshop, that viewpoint you bookmarked. Pin it and you'll know when you're passing.
You've walked past it every day this week. One pin and it won't happen again.
iOS's built-in geofencing monitors regions in the background. Pinping only activates when triggered.
GPS isn't constantly on. System-level location monitoring uses as little power as leaving Wi-Fi on.
From a shop doorway to entering a neighborhood — adjust the radius to suit each pin.
One-time for a single errand, repeating for places you visit regularly. Each pin configurable.
Add an emoji to every pin. Glance at your list and know exactly what each one is about.
Your locations and pins are never sent to any server. Everything is stored locally.
No. Pinping uses iOS's built-in geofencing system. The app doesn't run continuously in the background — iOS monitors regions at the system level and only wakes Pinping when you enter a defined zone. Battery impact is very low.
Yes. Because iOS monitors location at the system level, Pinping can notify you even when it's completely closed. You'll need to set location permission to "Always" for this to work.
Without "Always" permission, iOS can't monitor your location when the app is in the background or closed. Notifications would only work while Pinping is open — which defeats the whole point.
You can have up to 20 active pins at once. This is a system-level iOS limit for geofencing regions. Pause pins you're not using to free up space for new ones.
Check two things: in Settings → Pinping → Notifications, make sure notifications are on. In Settings → Pinping → Location, confirm the permission is set to "Always". Also make sure the pin is active.
